Course Description:

Dancing II also incorporates worship dance and a variety of other dance styles including basic ballet technique, jazz, tap, and creative dance.  There will be a strong emphasis on self expression and creativity through dance.  We will be working on short dances through the year, across the floor routines, and our own dance piece to perform at the end of the year recital.  This is a year long course with a recital at the end of the year on Monday May 11th.

 

Supplies needed for this course:

Students will need to come to class with hair pulled back and wearing clothing comfortable for movement.

*Note ballet shoes must be purchased for this course. Basic ballet slippers either split sole or full sole, canvas or leather are acceptable. They may be purchased from a local dancewear store or they may be found online at www.discountdance.com.

Grading Information:

Students will be graded daily on five things:  Attendance (Being on Time), Coming prepared to class with dance shoes and in clothes for movement, Attitude, Participation and Effort. 

Grading Scale:  Students will be given a percentage grade.

Guidelines for Success:

·         Class participation:  Students will demonstrate participation by answering questions, participating in classroom experiments and completing class work.

·         Class attendance:  Students will demonstrate attendance by being on-time for class, hair pulled back, shoes on, in clothes for movement and ready to dance.

·         Written assignments:  There are no written assignments for this course.
