Course Description:

Start your journey! Beginning Acting will build onstage and offstage confidence through theatre games, creative movements and imagination.  Students will learn the acting basics such as blocking, line memorization and movement. They will also work in groups and individually in creating our own scenarios and shenanigans. There will be an acting performance in the spring to showcase some of the things that we have learned in class.  This is a year long course.

Grading Information:

Students will be graded daily on five things:  Attendance (being on time), Being prepared with all supplies required for the course, Attitude, Participation, and Effort.

Grading Scale:  Students will be given a percentage grade.

Guidelines for Success:

·         Class participation:  Students will demonstrate participation by working and collaborating in groups, participating in classroom exercises and discussions and contributing to each of the productions.

·         Class attendance:  Students will demonstrate attendance by being on-time for class and by being prepared for class with materials ready.

·         Written assignments:  There are no written assignments for this course. Students are expected to complete in class group work as well as time spent outside class on line memorization.
