HERO Class Syllabus for 2008-2009

 

 

Course Description:

This is a semester class. Students will be making a Successful Study Skills Notebook this semester. This notebook will help develop organizational skills.  On a academic level as well as on a personal one.  Class time will be spent on developing -  Listening Skills, Study Habits, Note Taking, Successful Test Taking, Time Management ,Goal Setting, Learning Styles. Plus, much more.  One special project will be assigned.

Grading Information:

Students will be graded as follows.

50% classroom attendance and participation.  if student is late to class more than twice without a parent note ½ point will be deducted.  If student misses class without a doctors note or parent note 1 point will be deducted. 

50% for turning in assignments, projects & test scores.  Each HERO class day an assignment or presentation is late the student will lose 3 points.

 Guidelines for Success

Class Time:   Class time will be spent listening to lectures & doing hands on classroom activities
