HERO Class Syllabus for 2008-2009
Course Description:
Students will study problem solving, goal planning, study methods, multiple intelligences, reasoning, logic, and arguments. ***This is a full year long class. **** Homework is minimal.

Course Texts:
We will be using the two book series from Critical Thinking Books and Software.
- Critical Thinking Book One and Two by Anita Harnadek
- The Bible
- We will also be using critical thinking books and software – Learning on Purpose. This text is not a required book for the class
Guidelines for Success
Class Assignments: During the semester students will be required to do one project/report. Which will cause them to put all the above into practice.
We will engage in story and discussion problems that will help students develop these fundamentals of critical thinking.
Grading Information:
50% classroom attendance and participation. If student is late to class more than twice without a parent note ½ point will be deducted. If student misses class without a doctors note or parent note 1 point will be deducted.
50% for turning in assignments. Each HERO class day an assignment is late the student will lose 3 points.
